“The best way to protect your marriage is to enjoy it.”   Ted Lowe

Join us for our first BIG NIGHT OUT on Saturday, February 11th from 7:30-9:00  p.m.

Somewhere along the way, we have been convinced that having a great marriage is serious business…and it is.  But you don’t have to be serious all the time to have a great marriage! We believe marriage should be serious fun. And having serious fun is what this event is all about! At this Big Night Out, couples will have a great night with loads of laughs, some good ole love songs by Mosteller, and a relevant message.

Marriage is a God-given gift that needs to be celebrated, supported, and strengthened by the church…not ignored.  With the divorce rate at 50%, and not much better among Christian couples, we can’t afford to ignore it any longer.  Rather than reactively addressing marriage issues at the onset of a crisis, our leadership feels led by the Holy Spirit to proactively and intentionally invest in marriages before they reach the point of crisis. This BIG NIGHT OUT is the genesis of a marriage initiative here at Center Pointe under our Equipping strategy. We’ve partnered with an organization called Married People (more on this in the spring) to help guide us as we launch a comprehensive marriage initiative.

Rick and Libby Cottrell will be leading this new initiative. As a couple married 25 years, who attribute their longevity to the presence of God in their marriage, they are excited to be a part of something that builds marriages up and preserves the unions that God has chosen as a foundation for families.

I’m sure you’ll agree that the ticket price of $15 affords every married couple the opportunity of a budget-friendly night out, and when you add childcare in for $5, that’s hard to beat! Tickets will be sold in the foyer area on January 29th and February 5th. And this is important, so pay attention: Tickets are only on sale through February 7th. There will be no tickets available at the door, so this time, you’re going to need to plan ahead!

I’ll be there. I hope to see you there too!

Shawn
