Women's Retreat Testimonials

When asked how they would describe the retreat, two ladies who attended last year’s retreat had this to say:

  • “Our retreat is definitely not as active as the men's, and it's shorter (many women have a hard time getting away for a longer period of time) and less expensive.  But it's a really great time to get away, to take a break from the pace of crazy real life and spend time with God and each other.  It's on a beautiful piece of property for hiking and walking.  There's plenty of time for fun and fellowship, but it really is a spiritual time too, with some worship sets and great teaching.  We spend some time in small groups, meeting new women and getting in the Word together.  In the past I have really hated retreats before I started coming to ours.  I had some bad retreat experiences in high school and felt like they were either cheesy and silly-girly or all pressure-to-cry-and-have-a-breakthrough.  But this really is more like an extension of our Bible Study, which I would also encourage you to participate in.”

  • “My first thought to describe the retreat is like a big slumber party, where you know the host (or someone in attendance) but maybe not everyone.  It gives you a time to get to know one another and maybe even form some bonds that are unexpected.  The food is great and as mentioned earlier, many women do not have the luxury of being gone for much more than a day or so.  I know this is my case.  My husband seems to think the world might come to an end if I am gone longer than one night .  Money always comes into play also.  Since the women’s retreat is under $50, even the budget-conscious woman can justify going.”
